The next installment of the Brooklyn Record Riot takes place on Sunday, February 15th, 2009, again at the Warsaw (261 Driggs Ave. Greenpoint, Brooklyn), this time from Noon-8pm. Around forty dealers take part, some from as far away as Montreal and even (gasp) New Jersey. Phast Phreddie is organizing another crew of stellar DJs. Warsaw promises more food and beer. There will be five to ten dealers who were not at the first show. And who knows what else will happen. Early entry will set you back twenty dollars (10am-noon) and regular admission remains at three bucks. Tell your friends, please.

(contact information: Steve Gritzan at 609-468-0885 for publicity. John Bastone at johnbastone@optonline.net for dealer information.)

Directions to Warsaw :

From New Jersey and the west/south (Belt Parkway): Holland Tunnel across Canal Street and then over the Manhattan Bridge. Take the upper roadway of the bridge and then exit right when in Brooklyn. Follow signs to BQE 278 East (Triborough Bridge). Follow BQE three miles and then exit at McGuinness Blvd. Go down exit ramp and then left at light under the BQE. Driggs Avenue is the fifth light, make a left and then the club is two blocks on the left. ( Southern Long Island drivers can also use above directions if they take the Belt Parkway and then the BQE. Just pick up the directions at "Follow BQE three miles and then exit...")

From Westchester and the north: Take Triborough Bridge into Queens. Get on BQE 278 west toward Staten Island. Drive for six miles and then exit right at Metropolitan Avenue. Left at bottom of ramp, then left at first light (under the BQE, this is Meeker Street). Turn left at the fifth light. Driggs Avenue is the fifth light, make a left and the club is two blocks on the left.

From Long Island and the east: Take Long Island Expressway to BQE 278 west toward Staten Island. Exit right at Metropolitan Avenue. Left at bottom of ramp, then left at first light (quick left, just under the BQE, this is Meeker Street). Drive a bit and turn left at the fifth light. After this turn, Driggs Avenue is the fifth light, make a left and the club is two blocks on left.

Leaving Warsaw to get home: Go back to McGuinness Blvd (main street, two blocks from Warsaw , drivers may have to go around block) and make a right. The BQE is five lights ahead. Make a hard right at light before overpass for 278 BQE west (Staten Island/New Jersey). Either exit at Manhattan Bridge for New Jersey or continue straight for Belt Parkway or Staten Island. For Westchester/north and Long Island Expressway , make right at McGuinness Blvd and then go under BQE underpass and make left. Follow signs for 278 BQE East (Triborough Bridge) and proceed from there.

By train or bus from Manhattan: L train to Bedford Ave (one stop from Manhattan). Get off train and exit at Driggs Avenue side. Turn left and walk for to Warsaw (ten minutes or so). By train from Queens: G train to Nassau Ave. Exit near Nassau and Manhattan Avenue, turn right onto Leonard Street and then left onto Driggs Avenue. Bus from Manhattan : B24, B61, B62: All to Driggs Ave. Use hopstop.com for more specific New York City directions .

Parking: There are no parking garages in the immediately area of Warsaw . This is mostly because parking is fairly simple and accessible. There should be no problem on a quiet Sunday morning. Dealers should continue on Driggs Avenue (or turn left on Driggs after unloading on Eckford Street) toward McCarren Park. All parking along the park is available on Sunday, just pay attention to the parking signs. Also, meters in Manhattan on Sunday are suspended, so they are fair game. Warsaw is located in a safe neighborhood and the police are present on Sundays around McCarren Park.
